BIOMOLECULES BASIC INTRODUCTION
All carbon compounds obtained from living cell/tissue or whose source is
biological.
Nucleoplasm + Cytoplasm = Protoplasm
Polynucleotide(DNA)----->Biomolecules (present at nuclear region.)
Cell contains:-
1.Carbohydrates
2.lipids(they form plasma membrane)
3.Fatty acids
4.Proteins(different kind)
That is, biomolecules will be present in protoplasm(nucleoplasm+cytoplasm).
This was all about biomolecules.
Now we will talk about relative Abundance
Take a microbial culture or microbial paste
When comparing cells with the earth crust we will find the maximum of the elements present are the same such as :-
C
H
O
N
S
Living organisms more concentration
Si
Non living more concentration on earth crust
Chemical Analysis
Alevora
Mortar and pestle grind(centrifugation) to form sullary
In the presence of a chemical trichloroacetic acid
CH3COOH replacing hydrogens by chlorine ----------CCl3COOH
We will get paste we will put them in cloth and we will try to filter
The soluble particle or the particle which passes by are called filtrate(filtre ho gaya)
Cellular pool - all kinds of chemicals or all kinds of molecules present in a particular cell.
Which will be filtered will be filtrate and which are retained are called retainted.
Micro
18 - 800 Da
Take amino acid
Most of them are formed of different monomers
Macro
More than 1000 Da
Most of them are formed of polymers.
Different amino acid form protein
Combine different monosaccharide to form polysaccharide
Lipid is a macromolecule because acid is found in insoluble form.
Nucleotide combines with phosphate bonds to form nucleic acid(DNA and RNA).
Lipid weight is low(18-800) then also it is found in macro
First of all it is found soluble.
All things are made up of monomers example
Repeat monomer will get polymer
Repeating 1 amino acid will get protein.
Repeat nucleic acid will get nucleic acid
Fatty acid and glycerol they are not having particular monomer
